The Wyoming ROOTS team is a group of health professionals focusing on helping clinicians, hospitals and community organizations address the shortage of addiction treatment and recovery services available to patients in Wyoming.

  • Don Stader, MD FACEP

    (he/him/his) Medical Director

    Dr. Stader is the founder and president of Stader Opioid Consultants and an emergency and addiction medicine physician. He is the founder and Executive Director of The Naloxone Project, a nonprofit organization that engages hospitals in providing overdose education and naloxone distribution. Dr. Stader leads several state- and nation- wide projects targeted at harm reduction and substance use disorder treatment.

  • Susan Bradley, PharmD, JM

    (she/her/hers) Senior Pharmacist Consultant

    Dr. Bradley is a clinical pharmacist experienced in rural healthcare and medication management of patients with substance use disorders. She has a background in withdrawal management services, pharmacy leadership, healthcare law, regulatory compliance, policy development and systemization.

  • Mellie Ryan, BSN, RN

    (she/her/hers) Project Manager

    Mellie has a background in both healthcare project management and clinical nursing. She brings years of experience in the public health sector working in direct patient care as well as collaborating with administrative and clinical staff alike on multi-level process and quality improvement projects.

  • Lana Mahoney, BA, CPS

    (she/her/hers) Executive Director, Recover Wyoming

    Lana has a background in Behavioral Health and Recovery Support services. She began her journey with Recover Wyoming in 2011 as a volunteer in early recovery and has since worked for the organization in various roles over the years, now serving as the organization's Executive Director since 2020. She has been instrumental in furthering the peer workforce in Wyoming, through advocacy, training, education, and certification.

  • Alexandra Mannerings, PhD

    (she/her/hers) Data Analyst

    Alexandra earned her PhD in epidemiology from the University of Cambridge, UK, studying emerging infectious diseases in Ghana. Among other previous roles, she worked for the Colorado Hospital Association as their Director of Analytics, where she helped design the hospital analytics portal ODHIN. Alexandra is also currently an adjunct professor at Regis University at the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions.
